For our second week in Turkey, my group headed to Istanbul. It was my second time in the city, but it was still enjoyable. The ride from Ankara to Istanbul was very pretty and interesting. I had never crossed the Bosporus using one of the two bridges that are reserved for automobiles. Our apartment was in the Beyoglu district, which is less touristy than the Sultanahmet district and has a more Turkish feel. My favorite part of the trip was visiting the Asian side of Istanbul in Kadikoy, which I found to be cheaper and just as accessible as the European side. This was also the area where we met our fellow UM students who are interning in Istanbul. In addition, we visited all of the classic must-see locales within the city. Overall, it was a scenic three days in one of the world's most vibrant cities.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you had some time to travel. It's a great opportunity to see the sites! The picture of the bride and groom is really amazing. She's dressed beautifully. I think it's interesting that you're noticing all of the little "things" (like the truck).
How is work? What are you focusing on? Please share some pictures of you in action at work. I'd love to hear about how it's going!
