James-Ankara-Week 3

This past weekend our group went to Antalya.  It was basically Turkish Miami with mountains in the background.  We stayed in the pedestrian Old Town area.  The main highlights of our trip were the beaches.  The first beach had clear water but no sand.  Just smooth pebbles.  Lara Beach, about 10 miles from the city center, was a European blue flag beach, meaning it met high standards for cleanliness.  As far as sightseeing went, we mostly stayed within the city.  Getting around Antalya is rather difficult.  Overall, it was a good opportunity to get away from the rather mundane city atmosphere that Ankara offers.

  1. James,

Thanks for posting the title like you did- Name, Location, Week #. It's really helpful!

How is work going? Are you looking forward to the last week of conversation classes?

I have never heard about "European blue flag" beaches. Interesting that they have a ranking system. I am going to look up other blue flag beaches and see what I can find. The pebble beach sounds really wonderful because it is so different from the sandy beaches that we are used to.

I'm glad that you are feeling refreshed after a long weekend in Antalya. Best of luck this work week. Take some pictures at work, too! Your other pictures are great.

    Best,
    Tammy
